In an updated press release, Apple says it will pay the photographers who win the “Shot on iPhone” contest announced earlier this week. The contest celebrates “the most stunning photographs” captured on an Apple smartphone.
The Los Angeles rail and bus transit system should allow iPhone-owning members of the public to use Apple Pay for fare payments before the year is out, according to MacRumors.
Chinese New Year is Feb. 5, and Apple has shared a new “Shot on iPhone” film created by Jia Zhangke on the company’s YouTube Channel. Titled “The Bucket,” it shows a family wrapping their Chinese New celebrations.

Apple’s sales in Australia grew by more than $1 billion last year lifting its profits, but the amount of tax the multinational paid fell. The Age reports that the tech giant returned a gross profit of $900 million from sales, up from $756 million a year earlier. But its tax bill fell by $18.8 million to $164 million.
