Apple Daily Report: new Apple Books Marketing Toolbox unveiled (and more news)

Since Steve and I can’t cover everything, at the end of each week day, we’ll offer this wrap-up of news items you should check out. 

Apple has rolled out a new Apple Books Marketing Toolbox for members of its Affiliate Program. The company says the new marketing toolbox includes a variety of marketing assets to make it easier for affiliates to earn commission, as we as a new audiobooks widget.

Apple has posted several new Apple Watch tutorials on its YouTube channel. They look at such features as watch face customizing, using the Walkie-Talkie app, Activity rings, customizing workout metrics, locating an iPhone from Apple Watch, and streaming Apple Music. 



A merchandise guide produced for Apple retailers — as reported by Appleosophy — suggest that the tech giant is readying a Smart Battery case for the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max.

Switzerland’s competition commission says Apple has agreed to make a technical fix to prevent the automatic launch of its Apple Pay from disrupting rival Swiss payment app TWINT.

And it continues: in a statement to Reuters, Qualcomm aid it believes Apple is still violating a Chinese court’s orders to stop selling iPhones despite a software update that Apple rolled out yesterday.

The Wall Street Journal says Apple has had little success in spurring iPhone sales growth in India.

AT&T  announced that it’s launched its first mobile 5G service in parts of 12 cities across the U.S. However, 5G connectivity won’t be available until Friday.

As noted by AppleInsider, Charter Spectrum seems to be delaying the rollout of a dedicated cable TV app and support for “zero sign-on,” allowing apps to authenticate automatically when connected to a TV provider’s internet service, for the Apple TV. The product page for the Apple TV 4K now mentions these features as “coming soon” to Charter Spectrum. Until recently, the page insisted that they would be available “later this year.”
