Ireland: The Supreme Court will sit in Galway next March to hear an appeal over whether An Bord Pleanála breached its legal obligations in how it approved the first phase of Apple’s planned €850 million data centre in Athenry.

While Apple isn’t proceeding with the project, the court’s decision is likely to affect the board’s consideration of similar data center developments, per the Irish Times. Due to delays in the approval process, Apple dropped a $1 billion plan to open a data center in Athenry, Ireland, in May.

The Guardian reports that a series of short clips filmed on an iPhone featuring the Scottish countryside from a train window, a T-shirt on a radiator and a cat pawing at a lamp has helped filmmaker Charlotte Prodger win the 2018 Turner prize.

A version of Apple Music with public performance licensing in mind might be coming soon, given that Apple has filed trademark applications for “Apple Music for Business,” according to AppleInsider.

Deadline says that Planet of the Apes films star Toby Kebbell has been tapped as the male lead opposite Lauren Ambrose in Apple’s upcoming psychological thriller series from M. Night Shyamalan and British TV writer Tony Basgallop.

As noted by MacRumors, Apple has received FCC approval for a nondescript “sleep monitor” “designed by Beddit in California.” The tech giant bought Beddit, a company that develops health-related hardware, in May 2017.

Apple has announced on its Chines language site that its HomePod smart speaker will be coming to China early next year. The exact release date wasn’t given, but both white and space gray color options of the speaker will be offered at 2,799 yuan ($408) each.
