Rumor: 2019 iPhones will pack an improved Face ID system

The 2018 iPhones are such old news (no angry comments please, that’s sarcasm), that it’s time to start looking ahead to next years’s models. In a note to clients — as noted by AppleInsider — Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says next year’s Apple smartphones will boast an improved Free ID system.

He forecasts improvements that will lower the impact from invisible lights of environment, making for a more accurate system. Kuo prognosticates that “time of flight” will be added to the rear camera system of Apple products, as well, with it potentially being adopted by the iPad as early as the last calendar quarter of 2019, but not appearing in the iPhone until the following year.

Chances the rumor is true, according to the Sellers Research Group (that’s me): 100%. Hey, why not? Apple is always looking for ways to improve its favorite product (the iPhone) and Kuo’s predictions make sense.
