Setapp announces its own affiliate program

As of today, Apple’s iTunes Affiliate Program is no longer available. However, Setapp has announced its Affiliate Program, which offers a way to receive revenue from macOS apps.

The closure of iTunes App Store Affiliate Program is a big deal for Apple enthusiasts, earning on app promotions. Previously, affiliates were paid a 7% commission per each app and in-app purchase, the latter being cut to 2,5% in May 2017.

However, Setapp, a Mac app subscription service, is stepping in with its replacement program. Each member receives $10 per Setapp sign-up. To be approved, you need an Apple-related website or a social media account and a “desire to share reviews of the coolest macOS apps with your friends.”

Affiliates will receive links and ready-to-use banners to advertise Setapp on their own platform. Features include: performance-based incentives; a 30-day-cookie period for referrers; localized landing pages; and cross-device tracking

Apps from Setapp that were previously reviewed but linked to iTunes only, can be updated to the existing product mentions in Setapp. Currently 127 apps from 109 vendors are available in Setapp.
