Notable apps and updates, Sept. 3-8

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are this week’s picks.

macOS Apps/Updates

Lemke Software has announced CADintosh 8.4.1, an update to its 2D CAD program for macOS. 

It’s designed for use by technical draftsmen and designers and provides a variety of tools to create technical, mechanical, and architectural drawings. Version 8.4.1 brings new and updated features and bug fixes, including letter and legal landscape page frames and new scroll/zoom preferences.

 CADintosh 8.4.1 requires macOS 10.8 or later. It costs $33.99 and is available at the Mac App Store in the Graphics & Design category. It can also be purchased directly from the Lemkesoft website for $32. Version 8.4.1 is a free update for all CADintosh 8.x users. Upgrades from 1.x-7.x to 8.x is $19.95 from the Lemke website.

CloudBerry Backup for Mac has been upgraded to version 2.5.2. It supports Amazon S3, Amazon Glacier, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud and other cloud storage providers. It’s available in freeware and pro versions.

Designed for personal use only, the freeware version of the backup software comes with most of the features of the pro version, such as flexible scheduler and retention policies. The pro version comes with advanced features such as compression and encryption. The price is $29.99 for a single perpetual license.

Version 4.3 of the Apple Design Award-winning live video production application mimoLive – The Multi-In, Multi-Out Live Video Engine for the Mac is now available from Boinx Software. 

Integration of social media content such as Facebook comments, Facebook reactions and Facebook page likes along with Twitter tweets, Instagram photos and more is the focus of the release. Version 4.3 also features numerous enhancements and fixes.

mimoLive 4.3 is now available to all current mimoLive licensees for download from the Boinx website. For new users licenses (https://boinx.com/mimolive/buy) are available in four tiers.

Norbert M. Doerner has released NeoFinder 7.3, the third major update for NeoFinder 7. 

The utility helps you keep track of digital files, photos, songs, movies, fonts on hard drives, USB sticks, servers, Blu-ray disks, DVD-ROMs, CDROMs, and any other digital media. Version 7.3 adds a display filter, gallery view (for macOS10.7 and newer), the search for duplicates folders, cataloging email content, and 60 more features and improvements.

NeoFinder 7.3 requires macOS 10.7 or later. NeoFinder 7.x is a paid upgrade to licensed users of NeoFinder 6.x and the old CDFinder, upgrade price starting at $22. The price for new users starts at $34. Multiple user packs are available for network users. 

Cross-grades for users of similar applications (Cinematica, DiskLibrary, FileFinder, CatFinder, Canto Cumulus, Disk Tracker, DiskCatalogMaker, Atomic View, iView Media Pro, Extensis Portfolio, and others) are available. A demo version can be downloaded from the NeoFinder website.

iOS Apps/Updates

Go-Play-Games has rolled out Club Soccer Director 2019, the latest iteration of its football management series for iOS devices. In the game, you take on the role of director of football and manage the day-to-day running of an established soccer club — or create your own. This latest version includes a choice of 38 leagues from new countries, thousands more players and staff, new revenue opportunities, revamped AI and more. Club Soccer Director 2019 is free, but does offer in-app purchases.
