Apple does well in the American Customer Satisfaction Index‘s 2018 Appliance and Electronics Report. Among personal computer (PC) makers, the tech giant remains in the lead, unchanged at an ACSI score of 83 (out of 100).
Second quarter Mac shipments grew by 1.7% year-over-year. Apple’s computers and iPads receive best-in-class ratings across nearly every aspect of the customer experience—from device design to features and apps, according to the ACSI.
A notch below, Amazon is the most improved with a 4% jump to 82, its highest score to date in this category. Users give Amazon tablets strong ratings on design, as well as ease of operation and sound/ graphics quality. Samsung also comes in at 82, the same as a year ago. Like Apple, Samsung scores well across the customer experience, but trails its rival the most when it comes to features such as operating system, preloaded apps, and data storage.
The ACSI uses data from interviews with roughly 250,000 customers annually as inputs to an econometric model for analyzing customer satisfaction with more than 380 companies in 46 industries and 10 economic sectors, including various services of federal and local government agencies.
