Since Steve and I can’t cover everything, at the end of each week day, we’ll offer this wrap-up of news items you should check out.

Starting today, all John Hancock life insurance policies will come with Vitality – a behavior change platform “that rewards customers for the everyday steps they take to live longer, healthier lives.” This will require all policy holders to track their fitness with wearables and apps such as the Apple Watch or iPhone.

iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and Apple Watch Series 4 orders are now shipping to customers. The first ones should arrive tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 21.

The new process for repair staff is being introduced due to the chip’s advanced security features including hardware encryption for SSD storage that isn’t compatible with Apple’s previous data recovery methods used on older machines.

An Australian teenager who pleaded guilty to hacking Apple systems carried out the attacks over the course of almost two years and showed “a high degree of skill and persistence.” The now adult defendant, who was 16 at the time the hacking began and cannot be named under Australian law that protects the identity of juvenile offenders, faces two charges in relation to the hacking and will be sentenced on Sept. 27.
