Analyst: Apple to sell 222 million-plus iPhones over the next 12 months

Apple’s iPhone probably accounts for over 50%of smartphone sales across the “Big Four” U.S. mobile carriers (Verizon Wireless, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint), claims Canaccord Genuity analyst, Michael Walkley in a note to clients — as pointed out by Apple Must. He also thinks that the tech giant will sell more than 222 million smartphones over the next 12 months.

Walkley points to Apple’s continued high customer satisfaction scores and predicts Apple will continue to grow its share of the smartphone market. He forecasts the company to sell 222-227 million or more iPhones in 2018-19, rising to 238 million sales in 2020. Apple is expected to maintain share at the high end of the market, but to take more share from the middle of the market on strength of slightly cheaper iPhone models.
