Apple’s wearables revenue is up 60% year-over-year

In its fiscal 2018 third quarter that ended June 30, the tech giant reported $3.74 billion in revenue from its “other products” division, which includes sales of Apple Watches, AirPods, Beats products, and iPods. Revenue was up 60% year-over-year.

CEO Tim Cook says the growing popularity of the AirPods reminds him of the early days of the iPod when he saw white earbuds everywhere he went. Chief Financial Officer Luca Maestri says Apple sold AirPods as fast as the company could make them.



Apple’s wearables revenue exceeded $10 billion over the last four quarters. The Apple Watch had a record June quarter, with growth in the mid-40% range. The smartwatch has continued to hold the lead in the the wearables market. Last month market research group IDC reported Apple was still the single biggest vendor of wearable devices with a 16.1% market share that grew 13.5% year-over-year.
