In February Apple released macOS High Sierra 10.13.4, which added support for external graphics processors (eGPUs). Now Feral Interactive has announced that eGPUs are officially supported in Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration, the latest entry in the Lara Croft line of games.
eGPUs, or external graphics processors, can give your Mac additional graphics performance for gaming. You can use an eGPU with any Mac supported by Rise of the Tomb Raider. While the increased performance of an eGPU can produce better graphics, there may still be limitations due to the power of your Mac’s CPU, notes Feral Interactive.
Here’s how Rise of the Tomb Raider ($59.99) is described: “In the breathtaking sequel to Tomb Raider, Lara Croft becomes more than a survivor as she embarks upon her first great expedition to explore the earth’s most ancient and remote regions and uncover the secret of immortality. Harness Lara’s growing talents in a dramatic action-adventure ranging from Syria’s sun-baked ruins to Siberia’s frozen mountains. Play as the young archaeologist as she conquers tombs, outpaces rivals, and establishes her legend.”
