Apple Daily Report: new Seattle store, Kindle and Arabic, more

Now that my Apple World Today compadre, Steve Sande, is transforming his daily news update podcast into Tangible Tech, Yours Truly will offer an end-of-the-day text-and-graphics only update of various Apple news items. Because, hey, Steve and I can’t cover everything!

Apple has announced a new retail location in Seattle, Washington’s University Village. It will replace a smaller Apple store located next door in the same plaza. A grand opening is set for 9:30 A.M. on Saturday, June 30.

Amazon says Kindle customers around the globe can now enjoy reading from a growing selection of more than 12,000 Arabic language Kindle books on Kindle devices and the free Kindle app for iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets and Fire Tablets. Customers can shop for Arabic language Kindle books on existing Amazon websites including www.amazon.com/KindleArabic.

Zagg says announced its latest keyboard offerings that support a range of iPad models. The two new keyboards are Nomad Book and Messenger Folio and both offer Apple Pencil storage.

The Wi-Fi Alliance — of which Apple is a member — has introduced Wi-Fi CERTIFIED WPA3, the next generation of Wi-Fi security, bringing new capabilities to enhance Wi-Fi protections in personal and enterprise networks. Building on the widespread adoption of WPA2 over more than a decade, WPA3 adds new features to simplify Wi-Fi security, enable more robust authentication, and deliver increased cryptographic strength for highly sensitive data markets. As the Wi-Fi industry transitions to WPA3 security, WPA2 devices will continue to interoperate and provide recognized security.

Apple Palo Alto — a new retail store in Palo Alto, California, located on the 340 University Avenue, is scheduled to open its doors to customers at 10 a.m. local time on Sunday, June 30.
