Notable apps and app updates for May 25, 2018

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are today’s picks.

macOS Apps/Updates

Smile has updated TextExpander for macOS. It now offers enterprise-ready user onboarding with support for single sign-on (SSO) and Teams.

TextExpander supports SSO authentication via SAML with specific support for Okta, OneLogin, Google G Suite and JumpCloud. With Teams, managers and team leads can onboard their TextExpander users.

TextExpander is $7.96 per user per month for the Team plan, which offers snippet and user management and statistics. Previous-version TextExpander users receive a one year 50% discount on TextExpander for Teams. TextExpander for Mac requires macOS 10.10 or later. TextExpander for iPhone and iPad requires an iPad or iPhone running iOS 9 or later.

AKVIS has rolled out HDRFactory 6.0, an update to the tool for producing HDR images. The update offers a new Pin Tool that lets you refine the result on certain areas. Also, the software provides the improved HDRI mode, the enhanced Vignette option, various interface improvements, and other changes.

HDRFactory lets you create an HDR image from a series of shots or from one single photo. Also, the program allows users to refine the result on certain areas and get rid of so-called “ghosts” that sometimes appear when creating an HDR image.

On the Mac, HDRFactory requires macOS 10.7 or higher. It costs $69 for a Home license, which allows activation and use on two computers. A demo is available for download.

CS Odessa has announced a new edition of Cafe and Restaurant Floor Plans solution for ConceptDraw Pro. It includes libraries that are tailored to floor plans and interior layouts of any size or type of food service establishment.

The renewed Cafe and Restaurant Floor Plans solution has undergone an extensive facelift with this newest update. It’s added 20 new sample documents, redesigned the previous samples, and improved the associated vector object libraries.

Cafe and Restaurant Floor Plans is a $25 solution for ConceptDraw Pro, which retails for $199 per end user license. It’s also included in ConceptDraw Office 4, which retails for $499.
