Notable apps and app updates for April 25, 2018

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are today’s picks.

macOS Apps/Updates

IK Multimedia has announced London Grooves, an instrument collection of acoustic drum kit grooves for IK’s ultimate sound and groove workstation, SampleTank 3.

Recorded by drummers in London, this massive collection covers indie, rock and pop styles. It sports more than 1,500 WAV files, 1,200 ready-to-mix drum stems, and 300 stereo grooves. This $79.99 collection also includes stereo mixdown versions of SampleTank 3 instruments. In addition, 44.1kHz/24-Bit WAV files are available, for immediate drag and drop into a session.

Zevrix Solutions has released PDF Checkpoint 1.8.5, a maintenance update to company’s PDF preflight and conversion solution.

PDF Checkpoint automatically preflights, exports as images, splits and optimizes Adobe PDF files. The app is designed to help eliminate costly mistakes and optimize PDF documents for print, web and mobile devices. Version 1.8.5 improves handling of installed ICC profiles which are used to perform conversion of PDF files to different color spaces.

PDF Checkpoint can be purchased at the Mac App Store and Zevrix website for $39.95. The update is free to licensed users. A demo is available for download at the Zevrix website. PDF Checkpoint requires macOS 10.7 or higher.
