On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are today’s picks.
macOS Apps/Updates
AKVIS has released the $17 Dress Up Pack, which supplements the collection of picture frames for AKVIS Frames and AKVIS ArtSuite.
The set is inspired by popular fictional characters and includes 100 ready to use frames designed by professional artists, 50 horizontal and 50 vertical templates. On the Mac platform, the AKVIS products run on macOS 10.7 and higher.
RE:Vision Effects has rolled out Twixtor version 7 and ReelSmart Motion Blur version 6, both with 360 support.
Twixtor intelligently slows down or speeds up your image sequences. ReelSmart Motion Blur (RSMB) applies natural-looking motion blur by automatically tracking every pixel, and also blurs using motion vectors supplied by your 3D system.
The new versions support 360 video (in equi-rectangular format). RE:Vision Effects introduces, for the first time, optical flow tracking on 360 footage taking into account the connectedness of the left and right sides of the 360 video, as well as the geometry of the top and bottom edge pixels. What this means is that when retiming or blurring 360 video, you won’t see artifacts along the edges of the video that you might see with previous versions of our products, and with other optical flow-based techniques.
Twixtor is available for these host applications: After Effects and Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro X, Flame and Smoke, Nuke, Fusion Studio, Scratch, Nucoda, Silhouette, Media Composer, Vegas Pro, Hitfilm, Catalyst Edit and Natron.
ReelSmart Motion Blur is available for these platforms; After Effects and Premiere Pro, FCP X, Motion, Natron, Hitfilm, Media Composer, Flame and Smoke, Nuke, Fusion Studio, Nucoda, Scratch, Silhouette, Resolve, Vegas Pro and Catalyst Edit. Demo os both apps are available for download.
