mophie’s Charge Stream Pad+ offers high-speed wireless charging for iPhones

mophie has announced the Charge Stream Pad+, the company’s first universal wireless charging pad for Apple and Samsung Qi-enabled smartphones.

When a phone is placed on the Pad+, “smart” charging circuitry communicates with the device to determine the optimal amount of power it needs. Foreign object detection also ensures that power is only sent to compatible wireless devices. What’s more, low standby current ensures minimal power draw when the Pad+ is not in use.

The Charge Stream Pad+ also works with all charge force mophie juice pack battery cases designed for Apple and Samsung smartphones. Charging begins instantly by placing the phone on the Pad+.  For those not using a Juice Pack, power from the Pad+ is delivered through almost all lightweight cases. Devices continue to be fully functional while charging, so users can access the display and connect to Bluetooth accessories, among other things. The minimal, low-profile design is small and compact making it a perfect fit in any home or office, says  Charlie Quong, vice president, product development for mophie.

The mophie Charge Stream Pad+ is available today in Verizon stores, at Verizon.com, and mophie.com, and is coming soon to Best Buy and AT&T, for a suggested retail price of $59.95. Look for our review soon.
