Apple’s Jennifer Aniston/Reese Witherspoon project gets a new showrunner

Apple’s upcoming TV show starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon is expected to get a new showrunner after creator Jay Carson left the project due to “creative differences,” according to Variety.

Drama veteran Kerry Ehrin (pictured) is expected to take the helm of the series. Ehrin. who had been under a deal with Universal Television, most recently served as co-creator, executive producer and showrunner of A&E’s Emmy-nominated drama “Bates Motel.” In 1990, she was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series for her work as a producer on the ABC comedy-drama series “The Wonder Years.” In 2011, she was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series for her work as a producer on the NBC drama series “Friday Night Lights.”

Upcoming original programming titles from Apple include “Amazing Stores,” “Are You Sleeping,” “Home,” “Little America,” “See,” “Swagger,” an untitled Damien Chazelle drama, an untitled Reese Witherspoon/Jennifer Anniston dreamed, and untitled Ronald D. Moore drama, and an untitled M. Night Shyamalan thriller series.
