OWC debuts the Mercury Elite Pro Quad

OWC has introduced the OWC Mercury Elite Pro Quad, an external storage solution that offers four drive bays to provide massive amounts of storage from a single USB-C connection, with the flexibility to be utilized in Mac, PC and mixed Mac/PC environments.

It’s designed for users who require high capacity storage with fast transfer speeds, such as those in post- production firms, photographers, creative agencies, higher education programs, and small businesses. The Mercury Elite Pro Quad’s USB 3.1 Gen 2 interface and USB-C port work universally with any USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 equipped Mac or Windows PC. The included USB-C to USB-A adapter cable provides the ability to connect to any USB equipped computer. And it packs a heat-dissipating aluminum enclosure, quiet fan and vibration-absorbing feet.

The Mercury Elite Pro Quad is available in two versions of the SoftRAID engine for Mac users, one with RAID 0 and RAID 1 modes along with disk certification and drive monitoring, and one with support for RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 4, RAID 5, and RAID 1+0. Windows users can create simple (striped), two-way mirrored, or parity storage spaces directly in Windows 7, 8, or 10.
