On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are today’s picks.
iOS Apps/Updates
Faber Acoustical has introduced SignalScope X. It’s a signal analysis, data acquisition, and acoustics app. It’s free, but SignalScope X offers in-app subscriptions to replace and exceed the functionality currently found in other apps from Faber Acoustical, including SignalScope.
Wish Alerts has launched WishAlerts, a free m-commerce app that uses artificial intelligence “to bring communities closer together by geo-alerting users to common interests.” WishAlerts lets users join or create local interest groups, find or host events, get reviews about local businesses, and make wishes.
12 to 6 Studios has debuted Blood of Patriots 1.0. The classic fighting games of the 1990s have been reborn with an infusion of today’s political satire. You choose one of 17 characters from a mix of presidents, vice presidents, a few senators and 1 judo champion and fight your way through the “Tree of Liberty.” Blood of Patriots is free, but does offer in-app purchases.
VeprIT has released SlideFlow 1.0. The free app was specifically designed for generating animated photo slideshows with background music, and playing it on a TV screen. SlideFlow presents the full photograph, while applying the Ken Burns effect. The user can play the generated video on a connected TV, export, or share it. SlideFlow works over Wi-Fi network with many modern smart TVs, Apple TV, and Chromecast.
macOS Apps/Updates
Cisdem has given us ContactsMate 4.2.0 for Mac. It’s an update of the contact management software that will analyze, report, and fix issues with macOS Contacts.
It will also and export the Mac Address Book to different formats for contacts back-up or syncing. Version 4 is compatible with macOS High Sierra.
A demo of ContactsMate is available for download. Registration is $29.99. The app requires macOS 10.11 or higher.
