Notable apps and app updates for Nov. 15, 2017

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are today’s picks.

iOS Apps/Updates

Busivid Corp. has debuted Busivid Send Video. It’s a free person-to-person messaging app. With Busivid Send Video, sent videos and playlists are capable of being viewed on almost any device or connection, without worrying about what apps, software or browser the recipient is using. Real-time notifications give users insight into when their videos are viewed.

Art Authority says their apps for iPad and iPhone now include access to the 1000Museums gift shop, where art lovers can purchase museum-approved reproductions of major works they view through the apps. The Art Authority apps, two-time Apple Rewind award winners, include access to over 100,000 classic artworks from over 1500 artists.

Pomfort has debuted PocketControl for ARRI Cameras. The app enables users to remotely monitor and control their ARRI Alexa Mini and ARRI AMIRA cameras via an iPad and iPhone. The app connects to the camera via Wifi, and uses ARRI’s Camera Access Protocol (CAP) to give users remote access to the camera functions. PocketControl for ARRI Cameras is free and includes all monitoring capabilities of the app. The control features of PocketControl can be added via an in-app purchase of $169.99.

macOS Apps/Updates

Ergonis Software has released KeyCue 8.6, a new version of the keyboard shortcut “cheat sheet” for the Mac.

KeyCue displays an instant overview of the currently available keyboard shortcuts; application-specific menu shortcuts as well as system-wide hotkeys and user-defined shortcut descriptions. Version 8.6 ships with new Tioga and Tenaya themes and offers improvements with regard to installation, usability, speed, and overall stability.

KeyCue 8.6 requires macOS 10.6 or higher. The upgrade to version 8.6 is free for anyone who owns a license for KeyCue 8 or who purchased a license for KeyCue 7 on or after March 1, 2015. Upgrade paths are available for owners of older licenses. For new users the price is $19.99.
