October 5, 2011 was a sad day for those of us who follow the world of Apple. On that day, Apple co-founder and icon Steve Jobs passed away after a prolonged battle with pancreatic cancer. Today, Apple CEO Tim Cook remembered that with a heartfelt tweet complete with a photo of a much younger Jobs:

And, as one would expect from the trash heap that is Twitter, many of the responses were of the variety of “Too bad you’ve screwed up everything he built lol”, “Quality has gone downhill, especially in iOS. Lack of attention to detail now”, “Steve created a revolution, you created nothing at all”, and so on.
Fortunately, there were also a number of positive responses, including “Truly amazing. Thank you for keeping Apple going strong. Steve would be proud.” and “Stay hungry. Stay foolish.”
For the most part, however, the responses were typically Twitter and totally a width of bandwidth. Thanks, Mr. Cook, for the tweet and for continuing Apple’s success.
