Apple plans to offer Apple Pencil compatible iPhones “as early as 2019,” according to The Investor, quoting unnamed “industry sources.” Currently for iPad Pros only, the stylus … er, pencil … debuted in 2016.

Along with the stylus technology, Apple’s current A-series mobile chip may undergo a drastic upgrade to better support handwriting functions of the planned stylus, adds The Investor.
There’s evidence that this rumor may actually come true. In May, Apple filed for a patent (number 9,648,7040) for “devices and methods for manipulating user interfaces with a stylus.” The patent mentioned use of the device with iPads, iPhones, and even macOS devices.
