macOS 10.13 “High Sierra” now available

Mac users who are feeling brave can now upgrade to macOS 10.13 “High Sierra”, as the upgrade has just become available on the Mac App Store. Note that it may take a few hours for High Sierra to be visible on the Mac App Store depending on where you are located.

Many readers have told us that they’re going to wait a few weeks or months before upgrading from Sierra due to concerns about the implementation of APFS on different Macs (SSD-equipped MacBooks vs. Fusion Drive iMacs, for example) and the dearth of “must-have” new features in High Sierra.

Having used High Sierra on a MacBook Pro for almost a month, I can say that it’s stable, fast, and very familiar to anyone who has used Sierra. As long as you have followed our instructions on preparing for the High Sierra upgrade, you should have little or no problems installing the upgrade and recovering from issues if things don’t go smoothly.

Good luck, and let us know how things go with the upgrade to High Sierra if you do pursue it. We’d also love to hear why you’re not upgrading, if that’s your decision.
