The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) has announced the recipients of the 69th Annual Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards that will take place in partnership with the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) at their annual NAB Show on Sunday, April 8, 2018 in Las Vegas, NV. Apple is among the winners.
The tech giant won for “contextual voice navigation for discovering and interacting with TV content.” In other words, for Siri on the Apple TV. Comcast, Universal Electronics and Nuance Dragon TV also picked up trophies in this division.
NATAS is a service organization dedicated to “the advancement of the arts and sciences of television and the promotion of creative leadership for artistic, educational and technical achievements within the television industry.” It recognizes excellence in television with the Emmy Award for News & Documentary, Sports, Daytime Entertainment, Daytime Creative Arts & Entertainment, Public & Community Service, and Technology & Engineering.
The NAB Show, held April 7-12, 2018 in Las Vegas, is the world’s largest convention encompassing The M.E.T. Effect, the convergence of media, entertainment and technology. It has 103,000 attendees from 161 countries and 1,800-plus exhibitors.
