Kanex’s $79.95 GoPower Watch Stand is, despite its name, a magnetic charging stand for both the Apple Watch AND the iPhone. It comes integrated with the same inductive charging connector that comes with Apple’s smartwatch and can charge both the 38mm and 42mm models.
An additional USB port on the back can charge your iPhone, iPad or any other device simultaneously. It’s Apple MFi Certified, which is Apple’s seal of approval.
I use the GoPower Watch Stand on a bedside table to recharge my Apple Watch and iPhone. I use the latter as my “alarm clock.” You could do the same with the smartwatch. Your Apple Watch sits on the podium of the Kanex stand, where you can still see the time and use the touchscreen.
Using the GoPower Watch Stand is, as you would hope, a no-brainer. Just plug your charging cable into the USB port located on the back of the stand. Place your Apple Watch on the stand and connect your iPhone to the USB port. The magnetic charger securely holds your watch in place and automatically starts charging.
The Kanex stand is a bit pricey. But if you want a stylus charger that can juice up your Apple smartwatch and smart phone simultaneously at the end of the day, it’s worth a look.
