Apple has tweeted — as noted by AppleInsider — that it will stream an Apple Music-only performance by Arcade Fire in support of Everything Now on July 27 at 8:30 p.m. (Eastern). Everything Now is the band’s new album, due on July 28.
Apple has informed retail store employees and Apple Authorized Service Providers that some original first-generation Apple Watch models that require repairs can be replaced with Series 1 Apple Watch models. The substitutions are limited to aluminum Apple Watch models in silver, space gray, gold, and rose gold, and are only available in some countries.
A Florida man has agreed to pay $278,773 to settle U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission insider trading charges stemming from Apple’s purchase of his employer, mobile security company AuthenTec. The SEC said John Stimpson bought AuthenTec call options, a bet that the stock price would rise, after learning nonpublic information in early July 2012 about a merger, including a special AuthenTec board meeting and unusual activity in AuthenTec’s human resources department.
Google Play Music for iOS now works with Apple’s CarPlay when used with compatible car systems. CarPlay support lets Google Play Music users control music playback from the built-in car display using a streamlined interface.
Samsung has reportedly nabbed Apple’s A9 chip orders for the 9.7-inch iPads introduced earlier in 2017. TSMC, which is already the sole supplier of Apple’s 10nm A11 chips for the upcoming iPhones, will still likely obtain all of the next-generation A-series chip orders for Apple’s 2018 series of iPhones with its 7nm FinFET process.
