Denise Young Smith named Apple’s VP of Inclusion and Diversity

Denise Young Smith, Apple’s head of Worldwide Human Resources, will now run diversity programs for the company as vice president for Inclusion and Diversity, according to her LinkedIn page. She reports to CEO Tim Cook.

Since joining Apple in 1997, Smith has served in several key human resources (HR) roles. Most recently she was vice president of Worldwide Human Resources and Talent. For over 10 years, she sat on the leadership team that built Apple’s retail organization. Before retail, Smith ran HR for Apple’s Worldwide Operations and Corporate Employee Relations teams.

Before working at Apple, she offered talent, HR and management consulting expertise to early-stage businesses including Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers portfolio companies.
