Pledgeling now lets you donate with Apple Pay

CEO James Citron of Pledgeling, a “SaaS (software as a service) platform that powers purpose and social impact,” says it’s the first US-based social enterprise and third-party platform approved by Apple to accept donations via Apple Pay through its mobile-first technology, including donation forms, mobile messaging tools and corporate giving solutions.

In March, Pledgeling introduced the “Donate with Apple Pay” capability at the American Red Cross Los Angeles Region’s Centennial Humanitarian Ball during an on-stage fundraiser at the Beverly Wilshire. Combining Pledgeling’s text-to-donate capabilities with Apple Pay, the Red Cross received 31% of donations via Apple Pay and 86% of donations originated on mobile devices toward their $100,000 fundraising goal.

Apple Pay is a free add-on feature to Pledgeling’s platform, which supports all registered nonprofits, generates real-time tax receipts to donors and provides impact updates. To experience Apple Pay through Pledgeling, text APPLEPAY to 707070, and to sign-up, click here.

Apple Pay is currently available in 14 countries: Australia, Canada, China, France, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, the UK and USA. Apple Pay works with iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and Apple Watch. When paying within apps, Apple Pay is compatible with the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 4 and iPad Pro.  It also works in macOS Sierra.
