Many of us were expecting updated iPad Pros last month, but they may be coming soon. The 12.9-inch iPad Pro stock situation appears to be dwindling, with nearly no stock of popular models in high-volume stores, and an expected refresh date across the board of May 16, according to AppleInsider.
The article says that spot-checks of 20 Apple Retail stores show decreasing stock levels or no stock at all at retail. And Apple’s online store is completely sold out of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Quo has predicted thatApple will introduce three iPads this year: a 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2 and a “low-cost” 9.7-inch iPad, along with a new bezel-free, mid-size model in the range of between 10 and 10.5 inches.
The 12.9-inch update will reportedly feature the True Tone display introduced with its 9.7-inch counterpart, using advanced four-channel ambient light sensors to automatically adapt the color and intensity of the display to match the light in the surrounding environment. The super-sized iPad will also gain the 9.7-inch model’s same 12-megapixel rear-facing iSight camera and True Tone flash.
