The ecobee3 lite smart thermostat gained a new capability today — like the “full-fledged” ecobee3, the lite version now talks to ecobee’s room sensors. The capability was added with an automatic firmware update that was pushed to the devices, and existing owners of the ecobee3 lite can now purchase room sensors at just $79 for a package of two.
This was one of the most-requested features for the ecobee3 lite, as it gives users the ability to monitor and control temperatures in multiple rooms, and brings the perfect temperature to the rooms that matter the most.
The ecobee3 lite smart thermostat is available for $169 in the USA ($219 in Canada) from ecobee.com, Amazon.com and Amazon.ca. Starting on May 15, it will also be available at Home Depot, Best Buy and Lowes stores.
