Apple Daily Report for March 3, 2017

The AWT News Update is on hiatus while my compadre, Steve, takes a trip. In its place, I’ll offer a text-only (no podcast) summary of breaking stories with a tip o’ my hat to my former website, Apple Daily Report.

Apple is re-launching the iPhone 6, originally released in 2014, in a 32GB gold configuration. This model is technically “new” as Apple never sold the iPhone 6 in a 32GB model before.

Apple CEO Tim Cook attended former vice president and current Apple board member Al Gore’s new film, An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power, which was screened for a select audience in Silicon Valley on Thursday.

Apple has shared a pair of commercial spots that aired during the United Kingdom’s BRIT Awards last month, with the two ads promoting Apple Music to viewers as a venue to listen to the nominated and winning musical acts featured during the show.

Jonathan Levin has released LiberTV, a jailbreak for the Apple TV 4 and tvOS based on yalu by Luca Todesco. The jailbreak works on tvOS 9.1 through 10.1 but does not work on tvOS 10.1.1. It provides a full set of kernel patches which allow running unsigned code and injecting arbitrary libraries into any tvOS process.
