Rumor: Apple will introduce a new 5-inch iPhone this year

According to a new report from Macotakara — as noted by 9to5Mac — Apple will introduce a new 5-inch iPhone model this year. The report, citing unnamed “reliable sources in Taiwan,” claims that only the all-glass model of the iPhone will support wireless charging this year.

If the rumor is true — and I suspect it is, as Apple will need a smaller, lower-cost smartphone in its line-up — Apple may have iPhones in all three sizes this year. According to a DigiTimes report, there will be at least model with a 5.8-inch screen. The iPhone line-up will, per these rumors, have 5-inch, 5.5-inch, and 5.8-inch models.
