On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are today’s picks.
iOS Apps/Updates
Ubisoft has launched City of Love: Paris. In this free, interactive drama, players are given control to choose their adventures and romantic storyline set within the chic city of Paris. Set in the streets of Paris and surrounded by iconic locations, players will be immersed in the “Art de Vivre,” the art of living French style. The settings of the game were selected with the help of Anne Seibel, the Oscar-nominated Artistic Director of “Midnight in Paris” by Woody Allen (2011). Players will go on an adventure with “unique interactions, stunning discoveries and unexpected twists.”
Soluble Apps has introduced One Day 1.0. It’s a $1.99 calendar designed specifically to help countdown to special events and share the excitement with others. You can create repeating events, then can view the time remaining in the app or from the Today view, and share them with others through social media and email, or the special iMessage extension.
macOS Apps/Updates
Eltima Software has released Elmedia Player 6.7, a new version of its universal media player for macOS.
It supports most commonly used audio and video formats and downloads media from the web. The application features a 10-band audio equalizer, its own volume control, a video tuner for adjusting sharpness, contrast, reducing noise, video aspect ratio change, playback speed adjustment, ability to edit subtitles and much more. Version 6.7 has been translated to new languages, now features VobSub subtitles support for AirPlay streaming and got some necessary improvements.
Elmedia Player requires macOS 10.7 or higher. It costs $9.99 and is available through the Mac App Store in the Video category.
