Why Interactive has introduced Slowly 1.0, a free pen pal app. Users are matched in pairs based on common interests and language. Just like a real letter, delivery time depends on geo-locations and distance between pen pals.
macOS Apps/Updates
MailRaider 3.0 is now available from 45RPM Software. The app can open email files written by Microsoft Outlook, and extract any attached files. Version 3 adds support for the Touch Bar on the new MacBook Pros.
MailRaider can automatically extract your Outlook files into the most appropriate format. Message files are extracted into Apple Mail format (or your email client of choice), appointments are extracted into Calendar format, and addresses are extracted into Contacts format. What’s more, if you have lots of emails to extract then you can choose to extract them in bulk — and save them in bulk for import directly into your Mail client.
MailRaider 3.0 requires macOS 10.10 or later. It’s available for $4.99 at the Mac App Store in the Business category.
Fournova has announced Tower 2.6, an update to the company’s Git client for macOS 10.8 and higher. It provides an interface that combines all the features that Git has to offer.
Version 2.6 features various features and improvements, including Touch Bar support for the new MacBooks Pros, extended Git LFS support, and easier OAuth management. There are also speed improvements.
Version 2.6 is a free update for existing customers. New users can test the app and all its features 30 days for free. Licenses are available for $79. Volume discounts and discounts for students and educational institutions are offered, as well.
Feral Interactive has announced that the Mac App Store version of epic strategy game Empire: Total War has been updated to support multiplayer mode.
Players can now enjoy the online features of Empire: Total War by signing up for an account with Calico, Feral’s own multiplayer matching service. Using Calico, players can invite friends to multiplayer battles and co-op campaigns, compare skill ratings, and track achievements.
Empire: Total War requires macOS 10.11.6 or higher. It costs $34.99.
