Clarion rolls out multimedia source unit with Apple CarPlay support

Clarion Corporation of America has introduced the NX807, the company’s first full-featured premium double DIN in-dash infotainment source unit featuring Apple CarPlay support.

Compatible with iPhone 5 and later models, CarPlay provides a simplified way to use your iPhone interface on a car’s touch screen, giving users access to Siri voice controls, as well as Apple Maps, Apple Music, Phone, Messages, and a variety of third party apps.

Serving as Clarion’s flagship audio source unit, the NX807 boasts a high-definition 7-inch touch display, embedded GPS navigation, support for Pandora and Bluetooth music streaming and smartphone screen mirroring through HDMI. It offers a 15-band graphic equalizer, 96kHz/24-bit high-resolution playback of FLAC audio files, and a TOSLINK digital audio output interface for integration with Clarion’s Full Digital Sound component system – allowing users to experience high-resolution playback of FLAC audio tracks sampled at 96kHz.

The NX807 will be available in the first quarter of 2017 through Clarion online retailers such as Amazon, Crutchfield, and Sonic Electronics. Pricing hasn’t been announced.
