In a note to clients — as noted by AppleInsider — KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that Apple will offer a high-end MacBook Pro model this year with up to 32GB of —potentially desktop-class —RAM, while bumping 12-inch MacBook to 16GB of RAM.
He thinks Apple will begin manufacturing the 15-inch MacBook Pro with double the memory allotment of current top-of-the-line models in the fourth quarter of the year. Kuo thinks will be forced to adopt desktop RAM due to restrictions of current memory system designs.
The analyst thinks the 2017 12-inch MacBook — with a 16GB memory option — will enter production in the second quarter.
Chances Kuo is right (IMHO): 100%. Unless Apple has lost their minds, they’ll address the biggest complaint that pros have with the 2016 laptops. And they’ll also be introducing overdue iMacs by spring, per my crystal ball. As for the Mac Pro and Mac mini, stay tuned.
