HP unveils a display suitable for owners of the new MacBook Pros

If you’re looking for a 27-inch display to use with your new MacBook Pro with Touch Bar and are tired of waiting for the LG UltraFine Display, which is still listed as “currently unavailable” at Apple’s online store, HP has unveiled its 27-inch ENVY display.

It’s “only” a 4K display with 4K UHD (3840 x 2160 resolution at 60Hz) instead of 5K (5120-by-2880 resolution), but, at $499, it’s half the price of the LG monitor. The ENVY has USB-C connectivity, so just one cable delivers video and can charge your Mac laptop.

The IPS LED-backlit display — which weights 12.15 pounds (with stand) and measures 24.15 x 6.1 x 16.9 inches — sports a micro-edge bezel, matte black rear panel, and a thin aluminum stand. The base can be detached for VESA wall or arm mounting, but a bracket will cost you extra. Tech specs can be found here.
