Kansas’ Shawnee Heights School District, working with Jamf IT management solutions, has gone from 100% Microsoft to mostly Apple products in the past five years. The district buys all its products instead of leasing them despite dealing with budget constraints (as most school systems do).
Shawnee Heights School District is a public school district located in Tecumseh, Kansas. It includes a total of four elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school.
The district doesn’t force Apple hardware on teachers, but 90% of them choose Macs as their laptop of choice, Blair Anderson, technology manager, said today at the Jamf Nation User Conference,. All the district’s classrooms and conference rooms are equipped with fourth generation Apple TVs.
Six hundred iPads are deployed at four elementary schools. And there’s a full 1:1 student deployment of iPads at the high school level. Shawnee uses the Apple School Manager and company’s Classroom app among its software and uses Jamf IT management solutions, Anderson said.
The Jamf Nation User Conference, hosted by Jamf, is the largest Apple IT management community in the world and is underway this week. Jamf‘s goal is to “help organizations succeed with Apple products.”
