On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are today’s picks.
macOS Apps/Updates
Twocanoes Software says Winclone, Boot Runner and SD Clone are macOS Sierra ready.
Winclone is a solution for cloning and migrating Boot Camp on the Mac; pricing starts at $19.99. Boot Runner is a dual-boot startup control and boot management utility for enterprise Macs; pricing starts at $9.99. SD Clone offers a way to clone SD and other media cards on the Mac; pricing starts at $99.99.
Houdah Software has unveiled HoudahGeo 5.1, an upgrade to the photo geotagging tool for Mac.
The app tags photos with location coordinates and names. Standard EXIF, XMP and IPTC geotags allow photo cataloging tools to organize and later find photos by location. HoudahGeo integrates with Apple Photos, iPhoto, Aperture and Adobe Lightroom. Version 5.1 adds locations to photos in the Apple Photos library on macOS Sierra, as well as offers Apple Maps in addition to MapBox maps.
HoudahGeo 5.1 costs $39 for a single-user license. A full-featured demo version is available. Licenses are available from the Houdah Software store. Upgrades from HoudahGeo 4 start at $19. Upgrades are available through in-app purchases. HoudahGeo licenses purchased on or after December 1, 2015 remain valid for HoudahGeo 5.
Cocoatech has announced Path Finder 7.4 , a free update of their file browser for users running macOS Sierra 10.12.
Path Finder allows you to view hidden files, compare, merge and synchronize folders, batch rename and batch select files, use Dual Pane and full keyboard navigation to browse your file system and much more. P
You can try Path Finder 7.4 — which requires macOS 10.7 or later — for free for 30 days with all the features available to you during that period. Path Finder costs $39.95 for a single user license applicable for up to three user-owned computers. iOS Apps/Updates
Full Fat has introduced Blocky Hockey. The latest free game in the Blocky Sports brand brings retro-arcade gameplay to Ice Hockey with new game mechanics designed specifically for the sport. Expanding on dodge and shoot gameplay, a new power-up lane sets the player on fire, slamming opponents out of the rink.
CompanionLink has released DejaOffice for iOS 10. It’s a free app suite that includes Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, Memos, with Categories, Journal, and Notes. DejaOffice is an advanced scheduling and contact management system. DejaOffice features advanced editing for Contacts, Calendar, Tasks and Notes, Calendar Week view, mapping, and find nearby contacts. When used with CompanionLink on PC and Mac, DejaOffice transfers data from Desktop Outlook using USB, Wi-Fi or DejaCloud Sync without storing your valuable Contact and Calendar data using AWS servers.
Appdore has debuted Drop Theory 1.0. It’s a free, minimalist game in which players must flip, drag, spin and manipulate objects to reach the drop zone. Drop Theory features over 48 unique levels with four different modes to alter the strategy of each stage. Players will be rewarded with stars as the levels are completed.
FredBear Games and PlayPlayFun have launched Tons of Bullets! 1.0. It’s a $1.99 retro 2D mobile platformer for iOS and Apple TV. Players must control Kenji as he fights his way from mission to mission in a bid to rescue his girlfriend from the claws of her kidnapper, his arch-nemesis Dr Mad.
