Remember the original Apple Watch? It’s back, with a new name, lower price point, and an improved processor. The Apple Watch Series 1 starts at just $269, and uses the same dual-core processor as the new Apple Watch Series 2.
What it doesn’t come with is the built-in GPS and 50m water-resistant capabilities of the new Watch. It will also come only in the “Sport” configuration, with an aluminum casing and sport bands. Of course, you can order accessory bands as much as you’d like.
As with the other new products, pre-orders begin this Friday, September 9 and the new Apple Watch Series 1 should be available on September 16. A full comparison of the Apple Watch Series 1 and Series 2 can be found here.
