3D scanner and software comes to the Mac

Fuel3D, a 3D capture and imaging company, has updated its Fuel3D Studio software. In addition to several new features, the software is now available for OS X, making SCANIFY, the company’s high speed 3D scanner, available to Mac users for the first time.

The $1,490 SCANNIFY is a handheld, point-and-shoot 3D scanner that captures high-resolution, color 3D models of objects in in under 0.1 seconds, according to Fuel3D CEO Stuart Mead. The scanner is designed for use across a range of 3D applications, including 3D printing and personalization, as well as on-screen applications like 3D animation and virtual reality.
