On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are today’s picks.
Mac OS X Apps/Updates
Zevrix Solutions has announced Output Factory Server 1.2.15, a feature update to its output workflow automation solution for Adobe InDesign. The software Server automates printing and exporting from InDesign by processing files from hot folders.
Output Factory Server offers layer versioning, preflighting, variable file name, export as single pages and other powerful features. Version 1.2.15 lets users send automatic email notifications on processing stages and errors via Microsoft Exchange SMTP servers.
Output Factory Server can be purchased from the Zevrix website for $699.95. A demo is available for download. BatchOutput Server users can upgrade for $350. Output Factory Server requires Mac OS X 10.7-10.11 and Adobe InDesign CS5-CC 2015.
Twelve South has released the a new dual-screen background for the Mac: Hawaiian Island Adventure. All of the dual-screen backgrounds are complementary.
Twelve South partnered with photographer Scott Gordon to capturediverse landscape of the islands. Gordon focused on Hawaii’s second largest island, Maui, but was also lucky enough to experience the primarily uninhabited island of Molokai which features waterfalls of more than 2,165 feet tall.
Red Giant has released Trapcode Suite 13.1, an update to theirtools for creating 3D motion graphics and visual effects in Adobe After Effects. The update includes new features to Trapcode Form, Tao and Sound Keys, new presets for Trapcode Mir and Tao, as well as bug fixes for Particular, Form, Mir, Tao and Lux.

Unmarked Software has updated TextSoap, its Mac OS X productivity tool designed to automate the tedious task of manually cleaning up text, to version 8.1.
The software processes text from different formats. Version 8.1 brings user interface improvements and adds new options for all find and replace fields, either in the text editor window or with custom cleaners.
The upgrade is free to all TextSoap 8 customers. Customers may either update from within the app or directly download the update from Unmarked Software’s website. For new users the cost is $44.99.
iOS Apps/Updates
RoGame Software has launched ScalePlay 1.0.0 for the iPad. The $6.99 generative music app can be used in music production and as a tool for music education. ScalePlay includes scale references for hundreds of scales, nine virtual instruments and 128 instrument sounds.
