Hey, Siri, that’s ‘Streisand’ without a soft ’s’

A Barbra Streisand update may be coming to iPhones, iPads and even Macs soon. The singer and actress recently said she asked that Apple fix Siri, its personal digital assistant (which will debut on the Mac with macOS Sierra this fall) to pronounce her last name right, according to Billboard.

“She pronounces my name wrong,” the singer/actor/director said on NPR’s Weekend Edition. “With a soft S, like sand on the beach. I’ve been saying this for my whole career.”

She told Billboard that she took up the issue of her name with Apple CEO Tim Cook himself.

“And so what did I do? I called the head of Apple, Tim Cook, and he delightfully agreed to have Siri change the pronunciation of my name, finally, with the next update on Sept. 30,” said Streisand.

I’m not sure what update she’s speaking of, unless it’s the upcoming iOS 10.
