Moshi’s $44.95 Muse 12 is a fine case for Apple’s 12-inch MacBook. It’s main attraction is that it’s specifically designed to never scratch the laptop.
The Muse is a slim fit carrying case for a laptop that was certainly designed to be taken with you. The Muse’s zipper-less and Velcro-free design allows you to insert and remove the Apple laptop without scratching its finish. Some other cases have metallic zippers that slide or even run against the sides of the laptop when inserting the laptop inside the sleeve. And that’s a bad, bad thing.
A padded exterior protects against minor scrapes and bumps, while a soft Terahedron microfiber interior removes fingerprints while it’s cradling your device. The Muse features a SlipGrip opening that acts as a safety catch to prevent the MacBook from accidentally slipping out of the case, — even when turned upside down. Its outer pocket is convenient for storing adapters and cables.
The Muse’s 12 soft interior coupled with the suede leather type exterior and lack of zippers or metallic surfaces makes it a great protective case for a MacBook.
My one complaint: I wish it had an optional strap so I could sling it across my shoulder when I’m heading out on assignment.
