Voip-Pal.com has announced that they’ve completed legal service on Apple, Verizon, and AT&T in the company’s combined $7 billion patent infringement lawsuits filed in February 2016 in the United States District Court, District of Nevada.
Voip-Pal CEO Emil Malak says the company initially delayed service of the actions pending discussions with the defendants regarding an “amicable resolution.” Over the past several weeks discussions have been initiated between the defendants and Voip-Pal’s advisor and mediator, Ray Leon. Malak says Leon has either personally met with or spoken via teleconference with representatives of each of the defendants.
Voip-Pal is a publicly traded corporation that acquired Digifonica International Limited in 2013 in order to fund, co-develop and complete Digifonica’s suite of patents. Digifonica purportedly operationalized and tested its suite of software solutions with applications in five core areas of Internet connectivity: Routing, Billing and Rating; Lawful Intercept; Short Number Dialing (Enhanced 911) Mobile Gateway; and Uninterrupted Transmission.
Voip-Pal claims that “Apple, Verizon and AT&T were regrettably unwilling to engage in discussion of licensing the Company’s intellectual property and technology.”
