A report from MacRumors.com says that the upcoming version of OS X that will be previewed at next month’s Apple Worldwide Developer Conference will allow you to unlock a Mac via Touch ID on an iPhone.
Apple engineers are designing an auto unlock function that would allow an iPhone (and perhaps even an Apple Watch) to unlock a Mac when they’re near each other, eliminating the need to enter a password on a password-protected Mac, the article adds. The feature, which uses Bluetooth LE frameworks, will presumably work similarly to the automatic unlocking function on the Apple Watch, which allows an unlocked iPhone to bypass the passcode restriction on a connected Apple Watch.
Chances that this rumor is true: 99%. I think Touch ID support and the addition of Siri will certainly be added to Mac OS X 10.12 (or will it be macOS 10.12).
