NBA player blames injury on iPhone 6 Plus; We call foul!

Matt Bonner, a player for the San Antonio Spurs, says that his season-changing injury has been caused by — are you ready for this? — his iPhone 6 Plus. In an interview with the Concord Monitor, Bonner blamed the drop in his 3-point shooting, from 41.4 percent average over his 11-year career in the NBA to a still respectable 36.5 percent on an injury to his left (non-shooting) elbow. Bonner is “sure” that the injury was caused by the “way bigger” iPhone 6 Plus.

Bonner says about his injury that “I think because I got that new phone it was a strain to use it, you have to stretch further to hit the buttons, and I honestly think that’s how I ended up developing it.”

Wimp.

Ummm, Bonner is 6 feet, 10 inches tall. Like most NBA players (with the possible exception of my personal favorite player from the past, the 5 foot, 3 inch tall Muggsy Bogues), Bonner most likely has huge hands with a large finger span. I use my iPhone 6 Plus obsessively, and type probably 500,000 words a year, and I have no injuries from using it. My fingers are stubby little digits, not those monster hands that Bonner has. I have NO injuries. Don’t blame the iPhone 6 Plus, buddy.

Maybe it’s the fact that you’ve been playing for 11 years and you’re GETTING OLD. Don’t blame your phone, blame your age and the fact that you’ve been playing b-ball for over a decade. Take a hint, Matt. Retire, from the article it sounds like you have a promising media career ahead of you. In the worst case, you can always write fiction…
