iOS 9 “Move to iOS” app to ease the move from Android to iOS

With all of the great new things coming out for Apple devices, it’s not surprising that Apple will be adding a new “Move to iOS” app in iOS 9 that will make it fast and simple for Android users to wirelessly transfer information to a new iOS device.

The app is shown on Apple’s iOS 9 preview web page and it’s noted that Android users can move photos and video, bookmarks, mail accounts, contacts, message histories, and even wallpapers between devices. However, DRM-protected music, video and ebooks won’t be moved over.

Next, the app actually analyzes the free Android apps on a device and then makes suggestions on how to rebuild or replace those items with iOS versions. If an app is a paid app, it’s added to the user’s iTunes Wish List so that it can be purchased later.

Expect to see this capability this fall when iOS 9 ships.
