If you took a look at last Saturday’s Caturday post, then you’ll recognize the case that I’m reviewing today. In that post, One of DistilUnion’s beautiful working cats — Louie — was seen modeling a product from the accessory manufacturer: the Wally Wallet Case for iPhone 6 Plus ($49.99), now available in a stunning gray leather.

Now, I haven’t been a fan of many wallet cases in the past, as they were either too bulky or used a stick-on material to glom onto the back of the iPhone. I have nothing against nano suction material other than when you review as many iPhone cases as I do, you’re constantly pulling off that sticky material.

The Wally Wallet Case does away with the sticky-backed nano suction material and instead puts the wallet onto a nice white opaque frosted TPU bumper case. It’s easy to install and remove, provides protection for the power button and volume toggle switch, and looks pretty nice even when the wallet can’t be seen.

The Wally Wallet case is primarily designed as a thin line wallet to carry up to four cards of some sort or three cards and a folded up bill or … you get the picture. That little wallet uses the design that DistilUnion has perfected over the years, made of Argentine leather in black, brown or the new gray. There’s a small red “ribbon” that is looped into the wallet slot — when you pull on it, your cards magically rise out of the slot so there’s no need to dig with your fingers to get ’em out.

As a person who has been accused many times of having a thick wallet, I know I can’t fit everything into the Wally. But for situations where I don’t want to carry a wallet and just need ID, a credit card, and some cash, it’s perfect. As DistilUnion notes on the card accompanying the Wally, it’s really the perfect companion for Apple Pay where you don’t really need all that many cards with you.

I like the Wally Wallet Case much more than I liked the Wally Skin, and I know I will continue to use the case as my primary iPhone 6 Plus case for as long as I have the phone. One final thing: it appears that the Wally Wallet Case is universally loved by cats. Well done, DistilUnion!
