2.5 Gigabit Ethernet makes Satechi’s newest adapter special

Satechi‘s newest adapter: the USB-4 Multiport Adapter with 2.5G Ethernet, uses the next-generation USB-4 protocols offering upgraded bandwidth management and data transfer.

This, of course, means files can be accessed faster. The 6-in-1 adapter also allows you to use one device instead of four in many cases. The  Multiport Adapter packs 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet, USB-C 3.2 and USB-A data ports, an audio jack port, and an 8K HDMI output all through a single connection.

It’s the 2.6 Gigabit Ethernet that makes it special. Lots of similar adapters provide gigabit Ethernet, but the 2.5G aspect is special. Why? Upgrading from 1GbE to 2.5GbE means the network speed is improved, which is 2.5 times faster than Gigabit Ethernet.

The 8K HDMI output with its direct HDMI connection (on supporting host devices) means you can enjoy ultra-hi-res 8K HDMI output on supported displays with a refresh rate up to 60Hz. Conveniently, the  2.5 Gbps with the upgraded Ethernet capability is backward compatible with 10/100/1000 Mbps.

The Multiport Adapter offers great performance including upgraded bandwidth for video and data, transfer rates of up to 40 Gbps, and backwards compatibility with Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C devices. I use it with my 16-inch MacBook Pro, but it also works with the 14-inch Pro, MacBook Air, iMac, Mac mini, and even the iPad Pro.

If you have non-Apple devices (though I don’t), it’s also purportedly  It compatible with Android devices such as the Microsoft Surface Laptop, Google Pixelbook Go, ChromeBook, and Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro S, and more

Satechi’s USB-4 Multiport Adapter with 2.5G Ethernet is available now on Satechi.net for $149.99. Satechi is offering an introductory sale of 20% off with code USB4 until Sept 30.
